NAIA women's flag football approved as association's 30th championship sport
Governance

The National Administrative Council of the NAIA approved women's flag football as the association's 30th championship sport on 17 June 2026. The decision lifts the sport from invitational to championship status from the 2026-27 academic year, and the first NAIA Women's Flag Football National Championship follows in spring 2027. The NAIA, working with the NFL, was the first collegiate association to recognise the sport.
