college recruiting

Recruiting.
A useful starting point

New rosters are being built across NAIA, NCAA and two-year colleges. The rules are not one-size-fits-all, so this guide keeps the divisions separate.

Recruiting is a conversation between a prospect and a school. FlagSisters can point you to public program records and original announcements; it cannot promise a roster spot, an offer or a scholarship. Confirm every important detail with the school.

NCAA

Flag football is an Emerging Sport for Women. Championship legislation was recommended and funding approved, but the three divisional votes have not happened yet.

NAIA

The NAIA approved women’s flag football as its 30th championship sport for 2026-27. The first national championship is scheduled for May 5–8, 2027.

NJCAA pages were not readable in this source pass, so we do not publish a current NJCAA count, aid rule or championship claim from snippets.

A packet a coach can use

Make the first email easy to answer

  1. 1. Your basics. Name, graduation year, school, city/state, height, primary position and a reliable contact.
  2. 2. Three minutes of film. Lead with game clips that show decisions, movement and blocking, not only touchdowns.
  3. 3. A real schedule. Include upcoming tournaments, showcases or school games where a coach can see you.
  4. 4. The question you want answered. Ask about roster timing, position needs, campus visits or the next evaluation event.

The NCAA College-Bound Student-Athlete guide recommends sending coaches your achievements, highlight video, position, graduation year and NCAA ID.

Eligibility is its own task

NCAA Division I and II prospects use an Academic and Athletics Certification account. Domestic Division III prospects generally start with a Profile Page. NAIA athletes use PlayNAIA. The clearinghouses are separate; registering with one does not register you with the other.

Start with the NCAA registration page and the NAIA college-bound guide.

Fresh public signals

These are dated updates from schools that give a family somewhere useful to start. They are snapshots, not a ranking, an offer list or a promise of an open roster spot.
