MaxPreps sets 18-team girls flag football field in Chula Vista
Announcements

The inaugural MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown is set for September 11-12, 2026, at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. PlayOn Sports announced an 18-team field with more than 350 girls flag football players on September 8.

The invitational, held in partnership with iFlag, includes high school programs from California, Montana and Alabama. The announcement names Central of Phenix City, JSerra Catholic, Huntington Beach and Newport Harbor among the participating teams.

For families watching from home, PlayOn says games on Fields 1 and 2 will stream free on MaxPreps and NFHS Network. That is not a promise that every field will be streamed. The announcement below links to the full field, event schedule and viewing information.

This is a selected-field invitational, not a state or national governing-body championship.
