NCHSAA's own homepage lists 'Flag Football' under both its regular-season Fall Sports menu and its Championship Fall Sports menu (alongside Football, Cross Country, etc.), which is first-party evidence it is a fully sanctioned NCHSAA championship sport, not merely a state under consideration. This differs from the background assumption that NC was only in a 'voting' stage; recommend re-checking NCHSAA news/minutes for the exact sanctioning vote and first championship date, which were not extracted from this homepage fetch.
This page records what NCHSAA publishes about the sport. It says nothing about any individual student athlete. FlagSisters is not affiliated with NCHSAA.
